Yan-Africa is a Professional youth inspired and led network for youth entrepreneurs and micro-enterprises committed and focused on incubating agribusiness ideas and innovations which can make African agriculture more efficient. For example, innovations or technologies that can help preserve and alleviate food losses, and value addition like, consumer products preservation, processing and marketing of indigenous foods. These ideas are scalable and help to build a thriving enterprise on the continent to help employ hundreds of workers to help with Africa’s food crisis, but to also generate jobs and a financial return to potential investors. The Yan-Africa network is comprised of hunger fighters, change agents, and innovators, driven by the passion to see generational transformations and changes in the agribusiness sector from the grassroots to the global level.
The network creates an environment to support youths and their enterprises that are in the early-stages. The network offers agribusiness entrepreneurship training to farmers, youth, startups, SMEs and co-ops in the agribusiness verticals, by utilizing the Business canvas Model and the stage gate approach to provide mentorship and technical assistance in the agribusiness sector.
We work every day to enable more and more young Africans create and grow their own businesses, thus creating more jobs for those who opt for “look for a job”. Our recommendation to all is action! Start from where you are and keep an open mind. because we have a firm belief that “small will always be big”, no matter how small you start, the truth is you will grow, in one way or the other.
A transformed society where young people live a good life and aspire to achieve their dreams.
